 What Is Video Advertising?

Video advertising is content that plays before, during or after a piece of content. Unlike TV shows and movies that are created purely created to entertain or educate, advertising is created with the purpose of selling a product or service and uses entertaining or educational techniques to do so. 

Video advertising often sits in unique spots across television and/or the internet. This means it often needs to fit a particular ratio, frame rate and/or length in order for it to work as needed. Good creators know how to get the most out of the space and the time they have.

Video advertising is not a guaranteed strategy for generating additional sales leads. According to a report by the organisation The Audience Measurement, 75 per cent of ads are skipped when given an option, completion rates for ads longer than 20 seconds is 42 per cent with drop to 14 per cent when over 30 seconds.
